Hello, my name is Julian and I provide automatic driving lessons in the Highley, Bridgnorth, Bewdley, Chelmarsh, Erdington, Cleobury Mortimer and Kidderminster areas.
Having moved to Highley from Surrey back in 2024 I am currently on a trainee licence sponsored by LDC driving school which means that I've been trained in the latest most upto date proven driving instruction / coaching methods and my learners will have access to apps, online resources and a unique Learners Workbook which will help the learner both with the Theory and Practical tests and also that the learning process is as effective and cost efficient as possible.
Driving is a skill and I am passionate about making sure that the learners I train today not only pass their test but are safe considerate drivers in the future for themselves, their family and other road users and it is one of the main reasons that I have chosen to only teach automatics. It has long been my belief that new automatic drivers are (automatically 😉) safer drivers as without the need to operate a clutch pedal or gear stick they are able to focus more on the road ahead and around them while keeping both hands on the wheel. Fortunately, over the last 15 years manufacturers have increasingly been producing more automatic models as efficiency and technology improved and recently all electric cars are automatic so nowadays the automatic licence is much more relevant to learners as well as faster and easier to attain.
Whilst my tuition car is an automatic electric car the experience between learning to drive in a petrol, hybrid or electric automatic car is minor and if a learner has struggled to get the hang of clutch control (biting point), correct gear selection, hill starts or wants to go electric for environmental or cheaper overall motoring costs then going automatic is a sensible option and often requires fewer lessons, saving the learner money and time.
All of my lessons are either 2 hours or 3 hours long which means that learners have enough time in every session to practice, absorb feedback, build confidence and tie the knowledge and skills from previous lessons together. This results in faster progress in each session; this means learners become driving test ready faster and are more likely to pass on their first attempt.
I'm a calm, supportive and relaxed instructor which means I deliver quality lessons which help the learner build skills, knowledge and confidence. With an employment history focused on training, coaching and mentoring people of all abilities in many different skills, both in the private & public sectors, my ability to communicate clearly, adapt different learning styles to specific individuals, create a calm and encouraging environment for all is highly developed and ideally suited to helping learners develop into lifelong safe confident drivers.
I'm a strong believer that learning to drive with a supportive, non-judgmental instructor can be not only an enjoyable and productive experience but also saves the learner money in the long term by learning faster and smarter.
